Colorado Skiing + Snowboarding

When you think of Colorado, skiing and snowboarding are usually the first things that come to mind. The Rocky Mountains split the state right down the middle (almost) giving Colorado the perfect landscape for sliding and riding.

Some believe skiing made its way to Colorado in the early 1800s, well before it became a state. Skiing was used as a method of transportation to get around in Colorado's high mountain terrain. Skiing's longest continuous running resort is Howelsen Hill in Steamboat Springs, Colorado created in 1914. Other resorts started popping up soon after, turning Colorado into the skiing and snowboarding mecca of the United States.
