Stories of Heroism at Highlands Ranch STEM School
The shooting yesterday (May 7) at the Highlands Ranch STEM School that ended with one person dead and eight injured, while infuriating and sad, was not without its heroes.
An unnamed juvenile female and Devon Erickson, 18, will make their first court appearance today. They opened fire at the school on Wednesday but were met with resistance from a few heroes who helped reduce the number of people who may have otherwise been killed or injured.
Take 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo, for example. This young hero saw what was happening and lunged at one of the shooters, taking a bullet in the process and giving his life to try and save his fellow classmates.
Then there's Brendan Bialy. This soon to be Marine could not stand by while others died or got shot, so he made Marines everywhere proud by tackling one of the shooters.
Brendan and other classmates were able to disarm one of the shooters.
