February is American Heart Month and what better way to keep your heart healthy with a little run. This Saturday, February 18, 2017, the Fruita Parks and Recreation Department and Family Health West are holding the 10th Annual Sweet Heart Run and Health Expo.

The Health Expo will be held in the Fruita Recreation Center from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The expo will feature free screenings and educational material from local health-related businesses and is free to everyone on the Western Slope.

The 10th Annual Sweetheart 5K or 10K Run will start at 10:00 a.m. from the Fruita Recreation Center. You will need to register for the run and can download the application here. IF you have pre-registered, you may pick up your packet on Friday night (February 17) or before the run starting at 8:00 a.m. For more information call (970) 858-0360.

That number is expected to rise to more than 23.6 million deaths in the next 13 years. So use this month to get everything in order to keep your heart healthy for you and your loved ones.
