Renowned Band Leader’s Group to Make World Premiere in Grand Junction
Western Colorado is in for a real treat this Friday with the world premiere of a new Big Band under the baton of renowned musician and arranger Clark Gault.
If you're a music lover with a penchant for Big Band and Jazz, you'll certainly enjoy hearing the debut of the new band, Swing City Jazz.
The band's leader, Clark Gault, has composed music for several prominent clients including Cadillac, Coca-Cola, NBC, three Super Bowls, two World Series, and one Olympics. Earlier in his career, Gault performed with the Norad Band, playing concerts at Carnegie Hall, and with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
Upon leaving San Diego and moving to Grand Junction in 1994, Gault became the arranger for the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra. He has continued to arrange the GJSO's charts for the last 22 years.
Gault's other ensemble, Swing City Express, has performed throughout Colorado and California since 1997. His newest creation, Swing City Jazz, is a slightly smaller ensemble, consisting of eight musicians.
Swing City Jazz will make its debut this Friday, January 13, at Ella's Blues Room at 336 Main Street in Grand Junction. Music starts at 8:30 p.m.
Don't miss this show. Someday you'll be able to tell your great-great-grandchildren you were there when Swing City Jazz made its world premiere.
