Governor Jared Polis officially declared that he is ending the health emergency executive orders for COVID-19 and rescinding all previous executive orders issued during the pandemic. Does this mean the pandemic is completely over? Kind of.

According to 9 News, Governor Polis signed an order yesterday that only focuses on issues for Colorado's recovery from the pandemic that wrecked so many businesses and people's lives.

With that being said, there were also some positive things that came out of this pandemic (different for every individual and family) but in general, Coloradans stepped up and did their part, made good choices by wearing masks, socially distanced, and sacrificed moments with loved ones as we succeeded in having one of the lowest COVID fatality rates in the nation.

As of this article being written (July 9) slightly over 70% of adult Coloradans have at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine meeting the national goal President Biden set for Independence Day.

Way to go, Colorado!

We have reached President Biden’s aspirational goal of 70% of adults with at least one vaccine dose by July 4. Thank you to every Coloradan that has done its part to end the pandemic and power the comeback! pic.twitter.com/e2gn044Xc1

We've been talking about numbers for the past 18 months and here are some numbers really worth talking about and to feel pretty good about. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reports 3,258,773 people have received at least one dose, and 2,981,320 have been fully vaccinated.

Sure, the virus is still out there and probably always be but with vaccinations spearheading the recovery, it just feels good to be doing things again and gathering with people...basically getting our lives back.

I know in my particular line of work, it was really difficult not getting to do what I do best. That's getting out there and meeting you, hosting events, and going to sporting events and concerts.

Let's have a great rest of our summer and keep supporting our local businesses as much as possible.
