We aren't doing big events in Grand Junction yet, but that doesn't mean we are doing nothing.

Art is such a big part of the Grand Junction community and we are blessed to have so many talented artists in the Grand Valley. Some of these artists' work is going to be on display at a special neighborhood showcase called A P A R T this Saturday.(May 23)

This showcase is being organized by Caitlyn Love, who is best known in the community for her great work with downtown Grand Junction in recent years. Caitlyn told me she just wanted to create a safe environment where people could get out and enjoy an art show in a friendly and unusual setting, and support local artists.

The neighborhood art show is being held in the area of 4th and Chipeta from 5pm-8pm this Saturday. The showcase features local artists and creations they have made during the pandemic. Not only can you stroll by and admire their work, but it will also be available for purchase. Featured art includes collage art, drawings, watercolor and fine art paintings, graphic design, woodworking, photography, and much more

The public is invited to walk or pedal through the showcase, check out the art, and maybe even make a new friend or two. Wearing a mask and keeping a safe distance is extremely important for everyone attending the show and will be "highly practiced."

Here is a list of the local artists who will be displaying their artwork on Saturday.

* Devon Balet
* Trevor Adams
* Melissa Weeks
* TJ Smith
* Danya Aletebi
* Jamie Copley
* Ike Rakiecki
* Lily Cain
* Alyssa Kropp
* David Goe
* Alexis Hitzeroth
* Devan Penniman
* Nathan Javernick

Some light, acoustic entertainment is being provided by Talya Dewey.

The weather on Saturday looks like it's going to be fantastic. Surely the wind isn't going to just keep blowing and blowing. Hopefully,  you can get out and safely enjoy the showcase. It's always good when we can support local artists, not just at this time, but throughout the year.
