We cross an overpass somewhere in Grand Junction every day and never give a single thought to what might be under the bridge

The exception to that might be the people who regularly use the Colorado Riverfront Trail, who have seen what's under some of the bridges in Grand Junction - including the 5th Street Bridge and the Redlands Parkway overpass.

It's not a bad thing, it's just a little surprising.  While you will find plenty of graffiti around Grand Junction, what you will find under the bridges is unique and beautiful artwork. Some of it would be considered graffiti art - and it's all very cool and a great way to spruce up the sights along the riverfront trail that would otherwise be empty, ugly, and bare.

According to Spoke and Blossom, no less than seven local artists donated their time and materials to a project launched in 2016 by the Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture.

So many people in the Grand Valley will never see these hidden art gems because they are never on the riverfront trail. However, more and more people are using the trail and enjoying this amazing artwork.

These photos will give you a glimpse at some of the art under the bridges, and may even inspire you to go take a walk and see them in person.
