Movie Flop ‘Waterworld’ Surprising Facts

This water logged, futuristic cinematic wonder 'Waterworld' celebrates it's 20th birthday this week. Yup, it opened 1995! Starring Kevin Costner (webbed fingers AND gills) as The Mariner, Jeannie Tripplehorn as Helen, Dennis Hopper as bad guy The Deacon and even a very young Jack Black as one of the Smoker Plane Pilots.

The project ballooned WAY over budget to $175 million and became the most expensive movie ever up to that point. Production set backs, weather issues, problems with the original music score, script re-writes, accidents and injuries with cast members and even the editor quitting before he was finished!

With all that said, I liked it. Maybe I'm just cheesy enough to enjoy it.
