A couple is facing serious charges after the stepfather of a young boy allegedly killed the child and, after which, the couple dumped the boy's body in a ravine.

The boy's mother, 25-year-old Nickolle Aguilar, and the boy's stepfather, 26-year-old Daniel Garcia, allegedly placed the child's remains in a Colorado ravine after Garcia struck him with such force that he unfortunately and tragically succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

The boy, 5-year-old Domenic Aguilar-Acevedo was struck so hard by his stepfather in a San Antonio, Texas hotel room that he began vomiting a dark substance following being flung into one of the hotel rooms' walls. The young child was not given proper medical help following the brutal attack and tragically passed away.

In an apparent attempt to not be caught, Aguilar and Garcia transported the boy to Colorado and subsequently dumped his lifeless body into a ravine that was nearby an area that they decided to camp.

The couple then allegedly drove south all of the way to Costa Rica to likely continue to avoid being caught for the crime. Aguilar's mother then caught wind of the situation and began to become suspicious of her grandchild's wellbeing.

It was then that the mother of the deceased child told her mother what had happened which led to her mother alerting authorities who later found the boy's lifeless body.

This prompted Aguilar to return to the United States to give her late son a proper burial with the assistance of her mother, leading to charges being filed against both parents.

Both guardians are currently in police custody awaiting trial.
