Both the competitors and the crew hosting last week's Country Spotlight were delighted to have a living legend as one of the event's judges. This week, Country songwriter and bassist Joe Allen returns to join the panel of three judges for the second round of the Country Spotlight.Joe Allen has made a name for himself as a songwriter, penning Barbara Mandrell's first number one hit, "The Midnight Oil," as well as several hits for Johnny Cash, Bobby Bare, Gene Watson, Merle Haggard, and Waylon Jennings.

Allen also performed as one of Nashville's top bassists at the time, joining Johnny Cash's band, "Great Eighties Eight." That band featured players such as Marty Stuart, Bob Wooten, and Bob Lewin.

Joe Allen will join fellow judges Ken Dravis and Jeff Pine, both returning from last week's round of the Country Spotlight. Check out all the great entertainment and Country music this Sunday night at 7:00 at Cactus Canyon with round two of the Country Spotlight.
