Child Abuse is a major problem in Mesa County. You can help be a part of the solution in combating child abuse by attending the Child Welfare Forum on Tuesday night (November 15) at the Mesa County Workforce Center.

This free Child Welfare Forum will feature information from local experts on child welfare and officials that are working to stop child abuse. The Daily Sentinel reporters that investigated and wrote the article "Failure to Protect" will also be sharing what they found out about the issue.

The purpose of this forum is to discuss why child abuse is such an issue in Mesa County and share ideas on how we can get together and combat the issue together. Attendees may RSVP to info@casamc.org but an RSVP is not required to attend.

The forum will start at 6:00 p.m. and is expected to last about two hours. The Mesa County Workforce Center is located at 512 29 1/2 Road in Grand Junction, just north of North Avenue.

Please plan on attending and bring your friends and family, and together we can stop a large amount of child abuse that happens in Mesa County. You can also get more information at the National Child Welfare website.
