The Roice-Hurst Humane Society is featuring three special dogs this week that need a forever home, and your home may be the right one.

Some Goods News About Pet Adoption

First of all, there is some really good news if you have been thinking about adopting a pet. Roice-Hurst is participating in the Bissell Pet Foundation - Empty the Shelters. That means between now and December 20, all available pets at Roice-Hurst and in foster care will have an adoption fee of only $25. Typically, adoption fees range from $75  to $225, so this is a great opportunity to adopt a pet at a low cost.

Matching Funds For Donations

Additionally,  Roice-Hurst is participating in Colorado Gives Day and any donations on December 7 through the Colorado Gives Day website are eligible for matching funds from the Community First Foundation.

Now, let's get to the adorable dogs Roice-Hurst is featuring this week and hoping to find forever homes for.

 Remi

Remi is an eight-year-old dog that recently lost her owner, and so she needs a new family to love. She has lived with another dog previously, and would probably do good in a home with another pet. Remi loves to be with people and would make a great companion.

Zeus

Zeus is a beautiful dog that loves to spend time with people and has been very happy to meet new friends. He loves to go for walks and explore the outdoors, but also loves being a lap dog. He's pretty young and still working on his manners but enjoys the attention and treats of training sessions. Zeus knows how to sit - and "typically" comes when you call his name. Would be best in a home with older kids or adults, and if there is a dog in the home, he'd probably want to meet the dog to make sure they can be best new friends.

Acadia

Acadia is just a puppy, an 8-month old stray that was found by Mesa County Animal Services. She is very loving and appears to know basic commands like sit, and does well on a leach. She's had some play dates with other dogs, but you'd have to check and see how she would do with cats.

Make An Appointment To Meet Them

If you are interested in meeting one of these adorable dogs, call 970-434-7337 to make an appointment, or stop by the shelter during normal business hours noon-4pm. It's possible you could make this holiday special for one of these homeless pets in Grand Junction at Roice-Hurst Humane Society.
