‘Hidden’ Neighborhood Might Be the Coolest in Grand Junction
My girlfriend was visiting me here in Grand Junction recently and was driving around aimlessly when she happened upon a really cool neighborhood. The area is located right off of Patterson and Santa Fe and is called Mantey Heights.
When you get on the road that enters the neighborhood, it almost feels like you're in a movie, heading into a secret, heavily wooded place with no clear idea of what to expect.
It's then that the trees open up to beautiful, sprawling houses, most of which are Southwest adobe style.
The road then leads to a spectacular view of Grand Junction from one of the furthermost Northern parts of town.
Also at the top of the road is a house with a sign out front reading Pastoil Studio. I did some research and was unable to find any information on it, but I'm guessing it's either an art studio or, perhaps, a recording studio.
While most of the houses are big, beautiful Southwest style homes, there are also more modest homes in the neighborhood, like this one with a peace sign out front.
I haven't looked into the cost of living in Mantey Heights, but something tells me that I won't be able to afford to live there anytime soon. However, once I hit the lottery you can bet that the first place I look to move to in Grand Junction will absolutely be Mantey Heights.
