Rocky Mountain Gun Club has a new attraction this month that's the first of its kind in the Grand Valley — an all-ages haunted shoot house that is sure to get your adrenaline flowing.

“We have a fully decorated haunted shoot house just waiting for you to test your skills against those things you had bad dreams about,” said Terre Fry, Rocky Mountain's events coordinator/member liaison.

The haunting will be available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each Friday and Saturday this month, as well as on Halloween. Private party reservations also are available for Tuesday through Thursday this month. For more information or reservations, call 970-523-7642.

The cost is $5 per person for those 15 and younger using Nerf guns and $10 per person for those 16 and older.

If you haven't visited the Rocky Mountain Gun Club, you should know that they are a public shooting range (memberships available but not required) that offers pistol, rifle and archery ranges, as well as a simulator that "shoots" a laser at a projection screen. They have a large amount of rentals available, and more than 6,000 square feet of retail space with supplies for firearms, archery and all the related gear and accessories.

As a women-run business, the staff wants both men and women to feel comfortable learning and challenging themselves at the Rocky Mountain Gun Club. They're happy to give beginners quick informal instruction when they rent a lane but they also offer scheduled one-on-one training and a variety of classes.
