Grand Junction’s Top 5 Venues for Live Music According to Yelp!
Are you in the mood for live music? Where will you find the best music in Grand Junction? Here are the top five picks according to Yelp!
I agree with Greg Karly from the Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra - Grand Junction really does have a great live music scene. He made comments about the matter at a concert at Robinson Theatre a few months ago. He and I both have musician friends working in Las Vegas. Our friends are struggling to find gigs, right there in one of the biggest entertainment cities in the world. One of my friends, undoubtedly one of the best pianists in Las Vegas, works driving for Uber when not gigging. Meanwhile, in Grand Junction, you can find live music almost any night of the week.
Are you familiar with "Yelp!"? They post information based on customer reviews. According to their official page:
Yelp uses automated software to recommend the most helpful and reliable reviews for the Yelp community among the millions we get. The software looks at dozens of different signals, including various measures of quality, reliability, and activity on Yelp. The process has nothing to do with whether a business advertises on Yelp or not.
Based on user reviews, these are Grand Junction's top five "venues" for live music:
- 1
Warehouse 25 Sixty Five
2565 American WayNo surprise here. Coming in at #1 is Warehouse 2565 Kitchen + Bar. They're running live music at least two nights a week. I've played there a few times on Sunday nights with the Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra and the Swing City Express.
Warehouse's music typically leans Country, but they have a very eclectic schedule.
- 2
Cruisers Bar
715 Horizon DrThis venue has been around forever, offering live music on weekends. Show at Cruiser's typically start a little later than most, with downbeat usually right around 9:30.
- 3
Barons
539 Colorado AveI feel terrible for saying this, but..... I haven't visited this venue yet. Looking at their schedule, it appears they have several great local acts. I'll have to give it a try.
- 4
Ale House
2531 N 12th StSeveral of my favorite local acts play here from time to time. If you enjoy "music on the patio," this is the place for you.
- 5
Quincy Bar & Grill
609 Main StThis is a fun place. I've seen several great bands over the years. You'll hear about every kind of band you can imagine.
