We didn't have snow, but the annual tree lighting event kicked off the holiday season in downtown Grand Junction in a big way.

It's Beginning To Feel A Lot Like Christmas

Contrary to popular belief, Christmas was not canceled in 2020, only some of Grand Junction's favorite holiday events like the tree lighting and the Parade of Lights. Thankfully, these great holiday events are back this year and it sure feels like the community is super happy about it.

Saturday night, a large host of people gathered at the corner of 4th and Main in downtown Grand Junction for the annual tree lighting event, and it couldn't have been better. The weather was absolutely fantastic, the entertainment was sensational, and Santa Claus arrived just in time to help light the big tree in front of Wells Fargo as well as all of the lights downtown.

Fantastic Work By the Parks Department

Speaking of lights, I have to offer kudos to the Grand Junction Parks Department for an outstanding job on the tree. I think this was one of the best-lit trees in recent memory. These guys have worked so hard putting up Christmas lights, and we appreciate their efforts. With all the lights they've put up, I wonder if their own houses will be void of Christmas lights this year.
