It's happened in Colorado. What if it happened here in Grand Junction?

Would you be for or against a proposed tax or 'sugary drinks?'

Boulder is the first Colorado city to have this type of proposal on a ballot for it's residents to vote on. The movement, if passed, would add a two-cent tax for every ounce of sugary beverage.

Berkely, CA is the first American location to have a proposal like this be voted on and passed in 2014. Other cities that have implemented similar taxes are Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland and Chicago.

Mexico and France also have placed a tax surcharge on these types of drinks.

It's main goal is to help fight against obesity.
