The owner of a Lexus sedan is wondering why their car, parked in the driveway the night before, was the one a car thief chose to steal. That's what police are hoping to answer when they find the thief.

The car was taken sometime between 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 4 and 10:45 a.m. Thursday, April 5 from a residence in the 2800 block of Valentino Way. The stolen vehicle is a pearl white 2001 Lexus IS300 sedan with a sunroof. The car is estimated to be worth over $5,800.

The car had a US Air Force license plate with the number 908-OHV on it. You'd think a car thief might have enough respect not to steal a car from someone who has served in the nation's military, but apparently, they do not.

If you have information that could help police locate the car, the person who stole it or both, contact Crime Stoppers of Mesa County at 970-241-7867. All calls to Crime Stoppers are completely anonymous and if the information leads to an arrest, the person providing that information is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 without revealing their identity.
