Here are your weekly Grand Junction area road construction projects starting Monday, August 15. 

Be sure to check these out before you hit the streets Monday morning.

 

North Avenue Complete Streets Project — 12th to 23rd streets: Project requires lane closures from 6 p.m. to 11 a.m. Monday–Friday. All lanes will be open from 11 a.m. to 
6 p.m. Businesses within the construction zone will be open. Anticipated completion date is late summer. Info: bit.ly/1wQsiuP.

Chip Sealing of City Streets: Various streets north of Patterson Road between 12th and 15th streets and various streets on the Redlands south of Broadway in the 20 1/2 Road vicinity are scheduled. Variable message boards will be set up giving advance notice. Motorists should take extra caution, drive slowly and allow additional space between vehicles to prevent stone chips from damaging windshields or paint. Project to last until early September.

28 3/4 Road Waterline Project from North Avenue to Orchard Avenue. Crews will continue asphalt patching this week with completion on Friday, weather permitting.

Street Striping this week, weather permitting: 30 Road from Interstate 70 Business Loop to D Road; D 1/2 Road from 30 to 31 roads; Unaweep Avenue from U.S. Highway 50 to 29 Road. Traffic will be slowed as the machinery moves along. Use caution.

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

Horizon Drive Improvements — CDOT Project: Travel restrictions and speed limit reductions are in the vicinity of I-70 and Horizon Drive. Anticipated completion date is this month. Info: 778-3598, codot.gov/projects/i70horizonroundabouts.

U.S. Highway 50 Orchard Mesa Resurfacing Project — CDOT Project. Crews are repairing the roadway and repaving the highway from Pitkin Avenue to 29 Road. Project requires lane shifts and closures through the five-mile stretch in both directions. Expect delays. Access is maintained for businesses and residents. Work expected to last until September. Colorado Highway 340 (Broadway) Waterline Replacement — Ute Water Project. Work is from West Scenic Drive to just over a mile east. Expect lane shifts and a reduced speed limit. Traffic delays can be expected. Project will last through this month.

South Broadway from Colorado Highway 340 to Monument Road Waterline Replacement — Ute Water Project: South Broadway is closed to through traffic. Use alternate route. Project will last through September.

South Redlands Road from Martello Drive to Mount Sopris Drive,  New Waterline Installation – Ute Water Project: Construction to begin Tuesday. Expect alternating one lane traffic and delays during normal work hours. Flaggers will move travelers around construction zone. Anticipated completion is Friday.

Interstate 70 Business Loop Service Area Update and Improvements — Clifton Sanitation District Project: F Road will be closed Monday through Friday from I-70B to 32 Road for sewer construction work. Access to businesses and residential areas will remain open. Info: 243-3221.
