Grand Junction Airport metal thing. I don't know what else to call it.

Had to head to the Grand Junction Regional Airport last week to pick up a friend of mine who was visiting the area. As I was waiting outside, this huge metal contraption caught my eye. Since it moves with the wind and it was quite windy last Thursday, you would have lost a game of 'I Spy' rather quickly.

This being my first time at the Grand Junction Airport, I was more than curious as to what this huge 'T' shaped object was. So, I got out of my vehicle and walked over to it to see if there was anything information on it. Sure enough I did find a plaque with the following:

'FLIGHT'

This memorial is dedicated to Walter and Preston Walker, publishers of the Daily Sentinel, and their role as the moving force bringing aviation and air service to Western Colorado and Eastern Utah.
January 1983
Presented by the Walker Foundation
Kenneth E. Jonson, Marion Fletcher and friends of the Walker family

Now, I'm still not exactly sure WHAT this is.

Weather Vane on steroids? A giant metal scarecrow to keep birds away from the runways?
