Grand Junction 4th of July Fireworks Canceled
As if COVID-19 hadn't ruined enough of our plans for 2020 so far, we are now not going to have the normal 4th of July fireworks that had been planned. We got the details from KKCO 11 News, that as of today the fireworks show has been canceled that was going to partner up with a Grand Junction Rockies baseball game.
The decision was made after health officials thought it was the best decision for the whole community given the current pandemic. The show is so big that staff members would need to start working on the big fireworks show now and unfortunately, that just isn't an option given our current safer-at-home restrictions. Show organizers said that along with the pandemic, the high fire danger also made the decision to pull the plug on the show easier.
There is no easy way to pass along this information, the 4th of July is a fun holiday that we all look forward to celebrating but this year it will be different. I'm sure there will be a huge variety of online fireworks shows, and there will be plenty of fantastic neighborhoods that are blasting off rockets late into the night.
If you were looking forward to a big Grand Junction fireworks show it sounds like it's not going to happen this year, fingers crossed we have better luck in 2021. If we hear of any big fireworks shows in our area that are being worked on because this one won't happen, we will be sure to pass along that information.
