Ever wondered what's just over that hill, or beyond that field, but never had a reason to traipse all the way over there? Then try geocaching! This fun outdoor treasure hunt actually gives you a reason to get lost!

My hubby and I were blessed to receive a GPS in trade for a Jagermeister Machine we outgrew back in October of 2010 & we're definitely addicted!

According to Geocaching.com this is a free real-world outdoor treasure hunt. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using a smartphone or GPS and can then share their experiences online. There are 1,860,314 currently active geocaches and over 5 million geocachers worldwide.

The caches range in dimensions from a nano, which are the size of your pinky all the way up to a Large which is the size of a 5 gallon bucket. They can be on land, in the water or virtual! Some are hard some are easy.

After you locate the cache you are encouraged to sign the log & take an item that someone previously left & leave an item of your own for the next cachers. We have found weird, unique and common items from all over the world. Some of my favorites include a Heinz Pickle Pin that I wear on my jacket, a real NASA patch, and stones that a local couple paints Kokopelli's on!

Since my hubby & I started Geocaching we've seen some of the most amazing countryside, and backroads we've never had a reason to visit. I definitely encourage everyone to GET LOST, you never know what you might find!
