A four-year-old Fruita boy, born with a Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, meaning the left side of his heart did not form is in need of a life-saving heart transplant.

Carter Seely was sent to the hospital via Flight for Life 24 hours after he was born and has since had three open-heart surgeries, vocal chord paralysis, five cardiac catheterizations and suffered a stroke on the left side of his brain.

In April of 2019, Carter was flown to Children's Hospital in Denver where it was discovered his tiny heart was failing.

The only solution now for Carter is to have a heart transplant. As a result, Carter has been kept in the in-patient facility at Children's and the family has had to temporarily relocate to Aurora to be able to give him the care provided by Children's. Both of Carter's parents have had to quit their jobs to do so.

As his heart deteriorates, the concern is about his other organs failing, which would then keep him from getting the transplant. Currently, they are awaiting word on if a match has been found but with his young age and blood type (O negative) he has to wait for a match.

There is a go fund me page set up for the family and if you would like to help them, you can do that here.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Carter and his family.
