Here is some great news for everyone who needs to be tested for COVID in the coming days in Grand Junction.

For those who have heard about the long lines and wait times for testing at the Mesa County Fairgrounds, this is much-welcomed news. Mesa County Public Health has announced additional COVID testing will available to county residents beginning Monday, November 16 at a second location.

The additional testing is being done in partnership with Colorado Mesa University and will take place on campus. The testing times are fairly limited compared to what is being offered at the fairgrounds, but every little bit will help alleviate some of the congestion at the fairgrounds.

Testing at CMU will be available Monday through Friday from 3pm-5pm.  You need to be aware of the fact that pre-registration for testing at this site is required. The turnaround time for test results is 2-4 days.

Free COVID testing at the Mesa County Fairgrounds is continuing to happen Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am until 4:00pm each day. Pre-registration for testing at this site is not required, however, it is recommended. It takes about 2 days to get test results.

Individuals who have felt the need to be tested are reminded to stay in isolation following a test until results are confirmed. If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19,  Mesa County Public Health recommends you wait seven days before being tested, unless you develop symptoms. They also remind us that in addition to the two community sampling sites, there are other locations that offer COVID-19 testing. If you aren't comfortable going to one of the community sites just talk to your personal physician.
