The last couple weeks of routine restaurant inspections performed by the Larimer County Health Department have come back with four establishments that did not pass and will require a follow-up.

One restaurant in Estes Park and one restaurant in Wellington were among the four that did not pass on the first visit.

Tacos La Tradicion in Estes Park is pending a follow-up inspection, and Ridley's Family Market in Wellington appears to have corrected the issues the same day, passing a follow-up inspection.

But the other two are extremely popular spots in Fort Collins that are pretty surprising and are still awaiting a "Pass" designation.

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers on South College Avenue and Firehouse Subs on North College Avenue both did not pass routine inspection and require re-inspections by the county to see if the non-compliant items have been corrected.

Both were out of compliance on food contact surfaces being properly cleaned and sanitized, among other varying violations.

Cane's was inspected on March 7 and racked up 75 points on the inspection report. Firehouse was inspected on March 2 and tallied 55 points on theirs. Restaurants are required to total less than 50 points to earn a "pass" designation for a routine inspection. Fifty to 109 points require a re-inspection, while 110-plus earns a restaurant an immediate closure.

Before 2020, the county used to issue various "graded" inspection results like excellent, good, fair or unacceptable, for example. After changing the ratings, restaurants now either "pass" straight away, require a "re-inspection," or the worst rating you can receive — require a "closure."
