Warner Bros. unveiled a special treat for Harry Potter fans this weekend with this new behind-the-scenes featurette from the set of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, promising a wild, magical and awe-inspiring new adventure. The film marks the screenwriting debut of Potter author J.K. Rowling, whose praises are sung quite fondly in this new video.

You’ll catch some glimpses of scenes being filmed and a teensy bit of footage we haven’t seen before in the above featurette, in which Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, director David Yates and producer David Heyman all speak quite highly of Rowling and their experiences working on Fantastic Beasts. The cast also gives us a little more insight into this new world, which finds magizoologist Newt Scamander caught up in quite the caper in 1920s New York when a mysterious “catalyst” unleashes many of the dangerous beasts from his magical suitcase.

Yates and Heyman are both veterans of the Harry Potter franchise, with Yates having directed the last four films and Heyman producing all eight films in the series — so the world of Fantastic Beasts will definitely feel connected both literally and figuratively to the wizarding world of Harry Potter.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures.  Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them also stars Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Carmen Ejogo, Jon Voight and Jenn Murray and hits theaters on November 18.
