Two locations in downtown Grand Junction are getting 'upgraded.'

The old White Hall site at 6th and White Street, along with the space of the former R-5 High School are in the works to be turned into affordable housing units. Around 100 units in total will be available after this project is completed inn 3-5 years. KREX NEWS reporter John Madden has the complete story.

Re-Generation Development and the Grand Junction Downtown Development Agency are teaming up to bring this idea to life. The plan is to create apartments, townhouses and live work units in those areas.

I guess anything is better than a litter filled, empty lot of an eyesore. But, is more housing the answer?
