Please don't walk your pet on hot pavement this summer. You have shoes and your feet are protected however their are dogs that have walked in the summer heat and burned their paws. Apparently, an owner was taking his dog for a walk on a hiking trail and they had walked for over a mile and the dog wasn't making a fuss or anything but when the owner looked at his dog's paws they were severely burnt.

Many Veterinarians suggest you get booties for your dogs and check the pavement with your hand to see if it is hot. If it is too hot for your hand it is too hot for your dog. I have seen many homeless people with their pets and I feel so bad for the pet and the people because both are suffering. I try and help them when I see them either with a blanket or water if I have some.
