While enjoying a little trip to Oregon and Northern California, I discovered a little piece of Grand Junction had accompanied me on the trip. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say a BIG piece of Grand Junction was found among the giant Northern California trees. It seems a Western Colorado business is responsible for manufacturing the equipment featured at this attraction.

While visiting the Trees of Mystery attraction in California, my entourage took notice of a familiar company name. It seems the gondolas used to transport sightseers from the forests floor to the observation tower above was built by Grand Junction's Leitner-Poma.

According to Leitner-Poma's official web page, they manufacture a complete line of gondolas, chairlifts, trams, inclined elevators, and surface lifts.

Leitner-Poma set up offices and a factory in Grand Junction in 1981. According to Leitner-Poma, Grand Junction was selected for their location because its location enables the company to offer service to ski areas across the country.

Leitner-Poma boasts some of the best lifts in America. Where else could you expect to see their products? The company built the only double-loading chairlift on the North American continent, the Quicksilver Super6, as well as the highest chairlift in the country, both found at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

Lifts built by Leitner-Poma can be found across the United States, as well as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
