Deceased Musicians Grand Junction Misses the Most
A lot of people consider music to be a huge part of their lives. Certain songs and artists remind us of some of our fondest memories whether we heard a song on the radio, in person at a concert, or in countless other ways.
With all things in life, all things eventually come to an end, and this applies to musicians as well. While the music will live forever, the artists that create the music are as human as you and I and will eventually all make their way up to that great gig in the sky.
I posted a question on Facebook asking Western Coloradans which now-deceased artists they miss the most and received a plethora of great responses.
Classic Rock
Because of the time it was originally released, music from classic rock artists was often created by people that have passed on since recording the music. Some Grand Junction people answered my question with classic rock artists such as Tom Petty, Bon Scott of AC/DC, Freddie Mercury of Queen, and Tommy Bolin, to name a few.
'90s Grunge
Although the '90s were only a few decades ago, artists of the '90s grunge scene have a shockingly low lifespan on average. For example, '90s grunge legends that we've lost include Nirvana's Kurt Cobain, Alice in Chains' Layne Staley, and Soundgarden's Chris Cornell to name a few. All of the aforementioned deceased musicians are missed by Grand Junction.
Others
Other artists mentioned as those missed the most include people like The Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia, Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, country star Waylon Jennings, Metallica's Cliff Burton, and others.
