They sure don't make em like they use to! Seems to me that my Great Grandma's generation was built sturdier, got sick less, worked harder and played harder than anyone I know in my generation! Need proof? Meet my Great Aunt Eleanor.

My Great Grandma Edie was one of 13 kids, six girls and six boys, with one lost to pneumonia as a baby. She was 93 when she passed away and raised most of the small town community she lived in of Sloan, Iowa until she was well into her 80's!

The story is that my Great Aunt Eleanor was no different! Born in 1920 she recently passed away leaving 25 Grand Children, 72 Great Grand Children and 7 Great Great Grand Children!

According to my mom, Great Aunt Eleanor serviced the swamp cooler on the roof of her steeply sloped house until she was in her late 80's! In this picture you can clearly see her grey hair and all climbing trees to pick berries!

Their one living sister, my great aunt Evy is 96 this year and just did give up driving within the last year!

I can only hope that I am as stalwart as these fine women when I am half their age!
