Study Finds Colorado is One of the Most Patriotic States in America
Colorado is called the bicentennial state because it became one in 1876. It can also be said that it's because we're one of the most patriotic states in America.
A study conducted by Wallethub, ranks Colorado as the 6th most patriotic state in the US. That's quite an honor.
In order to determine a state's patriotism, Wallethub measured two key dimensions, Military Engagement and Civic Engagement. Within those there were 13, (a patriotic number as there were 13 original colonies), of key indicators in each US state. Those scores were tallied and weighted for the overall score for each state.
In one of those indicators, the percentage of adults who voted in the 2016 Presidential Election, Colorado ranked third.
Below are the Top 10 Most Patriotic States in America in 2018.
- South Carolina
- North Carolina
Since I mentioned it, here's an interesting tidbit from the survey related to the 13 original US Colonies. While not a direct correlation, it is something to ponder. Four of them, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia were in the top 10.
Seven of the original Colonies, Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island were in the bottom 10. New Hampshire ranked 13 and Maryland ranked 16 in the study.
