So, far this year 13 baby fawns are being raised in a Wildlife Rehab Center all because other humans thought they needed to be rescued. The Colorado Department of Wildlife is begging people to please leave these baby deer alone. They have not been abandoned. Chances are the mother is close by. Baby deer are left for long periods of time by themselves while the mother goes out looking for food.

However, some baby deer need to be rescued for instance a motorcycle and deer crossed paths the mother deer had twins and one died the other was rescued.  But if you are just out walking in nature and you see a fawn just leave it alone.

If you are out walking in the wilderness and see young wildlife keep a safe distance and keep going. Keep on walking. For more information on how you can help and protect our wildlife logon on here http://cpw.state.co.us/learn/Pages/LivingwithWildlife.aspx
