The first round of checks will be sent to Mesa County voters beginning Monday, December 16th. County officials ask that we allow one month for delivery before contacting the county. So how much money will Mesa County voters be getting?
Mesa County Tabor Refunds
Mesa County Colorado's TABOR rules are in place to limit how the government grows revenue and require our county to return excess funds back to the taxpayers. This December refund for Mesa County residents is NOT part of the Colorado TABOR check the state sends to residents during Federal tax season.
Why Am I Getting A Check In Mesa County?
Mesa County collected 11,492,270 million dollars above the TABOR limit in 2023. This means that all 114,839 registered voters who are 18 and older as of November 25th, 2024, should expect to receive a check worth $100 per voter.

Remember that Mesa County TABOR refunds are only for registered voters. Residents who did not vote are not eligible to receive a check.
