Who knew posting a video on Facebook could get you a traffic ticket? A Colorado man found this out the hard way.

Michael Dalton of Woodland Park, Colo. posted a video on the Woodland Park Community Page showing him taking a shortcut through a parking lot to avoid crossing a busy highway.

The video shortly went viral, catching the attention of the Woodland Park Police Department.

About a week after the video went live, a Woodland Park Police officer showed up at Dalton's house to issue him a traffic ticket. Dalton was cited for reckless driving and running a stop sign. Dalton took video of the conversation with the police officer.

Since then, Dalton published an apology video telling the whole story and apologizing for any inconvenience he may have caused to the apartment complex he drove through.

Dalton plans on fighting the traffic violation.
