Colorado Last Call to Be Extended to 11 p.m.

After midnight tonight, bars and restaurants will be able to serve alcohol until 11 p.m.

The previous 'Last Call Order' was put into place by Governor Jared Polis on July 21st, prohibiting restaurants and bars to serve alcohol after 10 p.m. This decision was based on the assumption that if patrons are only allowed to buy alcohol until 10 p.m., they will be less likely to transmit or become infected with the Coronavirus.

However, assumedly because of the low number of positive cases we have in Colorado, the previous 'Last Call Order' is expiring and a new one will take its place tonight, modifying the last call time to 11 p.m.

Not only are Colorado's Coronavirus cases in decline, we now officially have the lowest number of COVID-19 positive cases since the pandemic began.

Kacey Wulff, Senior Advisor for COVID-19 Response, Recovery and Resiliency had this to say about the 'Last Call Order' being modified:

There’s been a lot of discussion and questions about what’s going on with the last call order and I’m happy to confirm that that 10pm last call order is going to be bumped by one hour to 11pm.

However, despite the change, some business owners are still not satisfied with the order. Chris Fuselier, owner of Denver's Blake Street Tavern Tweeted about the order still not being late enough for Colorado Avalanche fans, making note that it should be midnight to accommodate hockey fans when games go into overtime.

However, it would seem that this change is one small step closer to returning to normalcy.
