Colorado is Home to the World’s Deepest Hot Springs
Plain and simple we are lucky to live in such a beautiful state such as Colorado. There is so much to do and see within our state including visiting the Highest Paved Road in the U.S. or the Longest Commercial Street in the Nation. But, did you know that Colorado is also home to the world's deepest hot springs?
It's true, in Pagosa Springs you can find the world deepest geothermal hot spring that is 1,002 feet deep according to the last measurement back in 2011 according to OutThere Colorado. But the depth could possibly be much deeper as the line they were using in 2011 ran out at that depth.
The world's deepest hot spring is known by a few different names such as the "Great Pagosa Hot Springs" or "The Mother Spring". It was first discovered by the Southern Ute Indian Tribe and has always been cherished for its healing powers.
The average temperature of the water that pumps into the turquoise-colored pool is near 144 degrees Fahrenheit.
