Photos From Colorado’s the 2023 Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off
Fall in Colorado comes with many colors and many pumpkins. This annual event brings people of all ages out to see who's grown the biggest pumpkin in the area.
It does boggle the mind when you try to picture how many pumpkin pies could be made by not only the winning pumpkin but all the competitors combined. It all happened on a beautiful fall Colorado Saturday,
In September, we let you it would be coming again, and indeed, it happened and was great. Fort Collins Nursery's 15th Annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off and Fall Jamboree.
There was a lot of activity for their Fall Festival, including pies, coffee, food trucks, face painting, hay rides, pumpkin bowling, an interactive music station, and of course, the pumpkin weighing. Fort Collins Nursery's iconic tree along the road greeted everyone coming.
The Rocky Mountain Giant Vegetable Growers Association (RMGVG) was on hand to help conduct the weighing of the huge pumpkins. The motto of the day was "Grow Big or Go Home."
At least a couple of the giant pumpkins were still being fed while they waited in line.

The event ran from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. that day. We stopped by about midway through the festival to see what was happening and to get some photos. Also, try the "pumpkin bowling." I did not get a strike.
Kids and adults had fun seeing the grounds of Fort Collins Nursery with the hay rides.
Not only did they weigh and measure pumpkins throughout the event, but gourds and watermelons were included, too.
Some competitors had fun getting their pumpkins weighed and measured knowing that they most likely would not have the one that would be crowned "The Biggest."
Kids had a lot of fun at the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off and Fall Jamboree, including checking out the interactive music station.
HOW MUCH DID THE BIGGEST PUMPKIN WEIGH AT FORT COLLINS NURSERY'S EVENT?
The winning pumpkin, which was grown in Wyoming by Andy and Amy Corbin, took the prize by coming in at 2,062 pounds.
