Here’s When Colorado Fall Colors Will Peak in 2019
One of Colorado's favorite fall pastimes is heading to the mountains to see all the fall colors. When, exactly, will it be the perfect time to check them out. Here's your answer.
There are so many great fall color drives around Colorado, it's hard to choose a favorite. Whether you're looking for a short afternoon jaunt to a weekend away in the crisp fall air, Colorado has something to offer for everyone.
Thanks to SmokyMountains.com, we put together a week-by-week schedule.
Sept. 7
There are some areas already changing, but for the most part, we're still green.
Week of Sept. 14
The majority of Colorado will see minimal changes with patchy areas in the higher elevations.
Week of Sept. 21
Higher elevations will begin to see partial changes with patch conditions on the Western Slope and Front Range.
Week of Sept. 28
Higher elevations will be near peak conditions, if not already at peak.
Week of Oct. 5
If you haven't made it out yet, now is the time to plan your trip. High elevation areas are in their peak --and we know this is the best place to be. Surrounding areas are near peak, if not already there as well.
Week of Oct. 12
Still, plenty of color peeping to be done. The whole state should be at peak, if not near the end of the peak. Get out there, Colorado.
Oct. 19
The majority of Colorado is past their peak, but you may still catch some lingering colors around the state, especially on the eastern plains.
Week of Oct. 26 to End of Season
Fall colors around Colorado have come and gone. There's always next year.
