Colorado’s Most Desolate Hot Springs Resort Is In A Ghost Town
This place is truly a hidden gem and a haunted one at that.
If you're looking for a break from the daily grind, whether it be work, traffic, people in general, who can blame you. I think we can all use something like this from time to time and it's certainly important to remember to just unplug sometimes from everything.
Thankfully, we live in a state where you can go from bumper to bumper traffic to being almost completely secluded rather easily thanks to places like the Dunton Hot Springs, which is about 25-30 miles outside of Telluride.
Oh, and did I mention the town itself is a ghost town? Yeah, pretty cool right?
Not only can you spend some time relaxing at a resort in the middle of nowhere of an old town that's haunted, but you can also actually rent the entire town for parties, anniversaries...really any kind of gathering, I mean how cool is that?
With that being said, if it's an actual break from people you want, then this is perfectly suitable for a solo or couple's retreat to get away from it all.
Dunton Hot Springs is also home to Colorado's only geyser which bubbles up about every 45 minutes.
I mean, tell me this doesn't look like the perfect winter escape into a Colorado postcard...
While this may be a bit of a haul for us here in Northern Colorado, if you're looking for a nice weekend getaway and/or something different, this just might be the perfect escape to restart and rejuvenate the mind, body, and soul.
This place was even recognized on the Travel Channel...
