Colorado Boasts Top Honeymoon Destinations for Your Wallet
Wallethub.com has identified the top honeymoon destinations based upon affordability, romanticism, weather, and activities that are available. Colorado shows up with five in the top 100.
Denver, as one might expect, is the highest ranked Colorado destination, coming in at #32 on the national list. As it turns out, Western Colorado has some great honeymoon destinations and what you save on travel you can pour into luxurious accommodations and activities.

Denver
The Mile High City checks in at #32 on the list with plenty to do including concerts, museums, the zoo, shopping, and a ton of great restaurant and hotel options. Plus, the mountains are nearby.

Telluride
Telluride was #66 on the list of the top 100 honeymoon destinations. A lot of things to like about Telluride including the fact that it is close to Grand Junction, and it is a great destination in the summer or the winter.

Breckenridge
Breckenridge, like Telluride is often thought of as a winter destination, but the fact is there is plenty to do in the summer including the fun park, horseback riding, dog sledding (yes,in the summer), hot air balloon rides, white water rafting and much more.

Dolores
You might be scratching your head on this one, initially, coming in at #74 on the list. Another close getaway located halfway between Durango and Telluride and just 20 minutes from Mesa Verde National Park. In addition to the beautiful scenery you can enjoy rafting, hiking, history, and just 30 minutes away is the Ute Mountain Casino.

Aspen
Aspen makes it in at #85 on the list of top honeymoon destinations that make it easier on your wallet, and it's not just for the winter season. Summer events include free concerts, the balloon festival, the Food and Wine Classic, the June Festival, and Snowmass Rodeo.
