Get Married For Free At Denny’s On Valentine’s Day
Over the years, couples have gotten married in some pretty strange places.
I've heard of library weddings, underwater weddings, treehouse weddings, hot air balloon weddings, and a myriad of other unconventional wedding venues. I've never heard of a pancake wedding.
At first glance, Denny's seems like a strange place for romance, but I would propose to you it's actually the perfect place to get married.
First of all, the big draw is that on Valentine's Day is you can get married for free in the Denny's Chapel in Las Vegas. An onsite officiant is provided along with a live DJ, and use of the chapel on this day is absolutely free. Additionally, Denny's provides complimentary wedding pancake puppies and a champaign toast. They also have a full-service bar with $2, $4, $6, and $8 drink specials.
Consider all the money you are saving by not renting a venue, paying a minister and DJ, or having some extravagant cake made up. All the money you save on the ceremony can instead go toward the honeymoon. Las Vegas, from what I've heard, is a popular honeymoon destination and so it's kind of like killing two birds with one stone. Once the ceremony is done, you're already at your honeymoon destination. No late-night travel and no additional expense.
Las Vegas is well-known for its fabulous buffets, but since you're at Denny's anyway, you could celebrate your nuptials with a romantic, candlelight dinner featuring his and her pancakes. There again, you've saved a ton of cash, which you could spend on tickets to see Mariah Carey or Barry Manilow. What could be more romantic?
Of course, there are stipulations to this wedding at Denny's. You need to be single. And you need someone that wants to marry you. You'll need to ask your boss for the day off, which I'm sure is no problem since this is such a special occasion. And, of course, you need to get to Las Vegas. It looks like the two of you could fly to Las Vegas this weekend roundtrip for a little over $200 - and a little more if you want to take a suitcase or two.
Now, if you truly want to go the economy route for the wedding of a lifetime, you could find someone to perform the ceremony somewhere in Grand Junction, and since we have two Denny's restaurants, you would still be able to enjoy that romantic pancake dinner for two following the ceremony.
