Christmas Pickle-New Tradition or Obscene Vegetable

Have you heard about this crazy tradition?

The other day I asked about the Christmas Traditions your family celebrates and shared my families tradition of building gingerbread houses!

I was shocked to find out that not many people have traditions anymore, but I was even more shocked to learn from one of the listeners that did respond about a tradition that involves a Christmas Pickle.

I'm not kidding, I even looked it up because I didn't believe her!

Here's the scoop:

• According to German Tradition an ornament in the shape of a pickle is hidden somewhere on your Christmas Tree.
• The finder of the Christmas Pickle on Christmas Morning either receives an extra gift from Santa or good fortune and blessings in the new year!

This is really exciting for me because not only do I LOVE traditions, I LOVE pickles! So you can definitely count on this being a new tradition at our house!
