The Mesa County Breastfeeding Task Force and Colorado Baby are marking World Breastfeeding Week this Thursday, August 1st, at the Downtown Farmer’s Market in Grand Junction.

Did you know Colorado ranks first in the nation for exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of a child’s life!?

That's awesome because breast-fed babies are less likely to develop infections, asthma, childhood obesity and sudden infant death syndrome, PLUS mommies benefit from a reduced risk for breast and ovarian cancers, research indicates!

Breastfeeding or expecting mothers (and other supporters) can join them from 5p to 8p at Colorado Baby, 560 Main St.

While you're there make sure you enter to win a Lansinoh electric breast pump and other prizes!
