Well, it finally happened. I've put on so much weight my pants finally exploded. I probably wouldn't care, but it happened at the grocery store. I couldn't even go home to change since I was on my way to a rehearsal. Is there any way to fix a broken zipper when you're on the go?

Imagine my disgrace as I staggered through a rehearsal with Clark Gualt's Swing City Express with my fly hanging open. Why didn't I just fasten the top button and roll with it, you ask? Because, I'm too fat to fasten the top button. That is why there was so much stress being put on the zipper in the first place.

So, anyway, we now have a precedent. It can be done. A person can play a two-hour Big Band gig with his fly open.

Let's pretend this situation happened under slightly different circumstances. Can a jeans zipper be fixed by the average Joe with a minimum of fuss and a shortage of sewing equipment? Watch and observe.
