With the first day of school less than two weeks away, here's a reminder that many students need immunizations to attend public school. It's not bad enough that Summer is almost over, now they have to get a shot as well?

The fine folks at the Mesa County Health Department are helping out. They are hosting an immunization clinic today (Thursday, July 23) 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Immunizations will be given on a first come, first served, and they're on accepting walk-ins. You are asked to please bring immunizations records with you.

The Mesa County Health Department is located at 510 29 1/2 Road. If you have any questions, feel free to call them at 970-248-6900.

If you are new to the district and have more specific questions you can call Nurses Services at School District 51 at 970-254-5417.

The information can also be found in the Student and Parent Handbook.

Colorado state law requires parents to provide updated immunization records at school registration and throughout the year when a child receives an additional vaccine.
