Colorado Students Demand Action After Racist Snapchat Video

A video allegedly showing high school students choking each other and using racial slurs on social media has Fort Collins residents upset.

Fox 31 Denver is reporting that local students are calling on the Poudre School District to take action after a video was posted to the social media app Snapchat allegedly showing students mocking "chokeholds" and using racist language.

The video, that was posted to a private Snapchat account then recorded, saved, and shared on other social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Sandra Smyser, the school's superintendent said this in a Facebook post:

I am disgusted and disappointed by the post. We do not tolerate hate or racism of any group at any time in PSD. Pursuant to our goal of educational equity, PSD is committed to being an organization of dignity and belonging for every person and group of people.

The Poudre School district goes on to say that they are " investigating and assessing the situation to determine the next steps."
