We have been surrounded by fires in the past few weeks on the Western Slope. The Pine Gulch Fire is now the largest active wildfire in the United States burning less than 20 miles north of Grand Junction. We also have the Grizzly Creek Fire that is burning in the Glenwood Canyon with over 25,000 acres burned with little containment. It's easy to see that we have needed the efforts of hundreds of firefighters as these fires continue to burn.

Some of the best news that we have heard throughout the past couple weeks has been about the support these firefighters have received since their arrival. Multiple times on social media we have seen posts about these brave men and women having all of the supplies they need as far as food, water, and personal hygiene products. Our community has stepped up big to assist those who are working so hard to take care of us.

But if they don't need supplies what else can we do to show support? That is a question that many people have asked themselves and recently Zach Hamilton wanted to show his support by playing music.

Zach posted to Facebook last night after going to the Palisade Fire Department with his bagpipes to play the beautiful song Amazing Grace. The whole reason he did this was that he wanted to show support for firefighters around our state. It's a small act but what a cool idea to show how much we appreciate these brave firefighters.
