Do you want to help others learn about your art, whether you paint, draw, sculpt, sing, or take stunning pictures. The 970WEST Artist in Residence program offers artists space to work, a chance to share with the community and the opportunity to grow and expand.

The 970West Studio building, located at the corner or 5th Street and Ouray, contains large enough rooms to train up to 20 people, a large artist in residence space and storage space for supplies.

The Artist In Residence program lasts about 15 weeks. During that time the artist is expected to work with staff at the library and conduct at least three presentations for the public to attend and learn more about different arts or programs. Artists must live in Mesa County and have a valid library card to apply. You can fill out the AIR application here, and go to the Mesa County website to learn more about what is offered at 970WEST Studio.

The Library's Art Committee and staff will review all the credentials and conduct interviews before selecting the 2017 Artists In Residence. There are three positions to be filled to cover 2017. Applications and packets must be submitted by November 11, 2016.
