Who would have guessed a simple, one-line text message could go so horribly wrong? Look at what can happen when you try to contact a drummer to let them know you dropped off their pay from last Friday's gig.

This text sequence is proof of two things:

  • Autocorrect functions are anything but perfect
  • Band member incomes haven't gone up so much as a dime since the mid-1970s.

The message was supposed to read:

"I gave your pay, $75, to the Mrs."

How auto correct could confuse "pay" with "pee" is hard to imagine. Please observe - according to Dictionary.com:

  • Pay  [pey] - verb - to settle (a debt, obligation, etc), as by transferring money or goods.
  • Pee  [pee] - verb - to urinate; noun - urine

Big difference. In any event, as capable a drummer as this dude is, his pee isn't worth anywhere near $75. For that matter, why would I have it, and why would his wife want it?

Heads up! Take it easy with texting and Autocorrect. There are far more drastic examples, but those instances didn't involve me.
